Loading...The tenderness in milet’s voice when she sings “Anytime Anywhere” is a hand-in-glove fit with Frieren‘s mood and setting. So much so that it’s difficult to think of any other song that could do Frieren‘s ending theme justice.
From the first notes of her voice, there’s this aching longing emotion that materializes with each phrase in the verse. The prechorus then builds up nicely with a burgeoning energy before hitting the cathartic notes that start the chorus. Here, the song channels the intensity of the singer’s feelings for a loved one who’s moved on. The tone is heartfelt, particular in the high notes before the chorus closes out, and together, with the wispy echoes in the second verse, makes for a fantastic song.
Evan Call, who worked on Frieren‘s soundtrack, worked on “bliss” also gives us a strong milet song. The Celtic theme and the ensuing verse has the feel of the subject going on a long journey where she’s meandering without a definitive destination in mind, reconciling her feelings all the whole. Again, another solid song, one that fits within Frieren’s atmosphere and sentiments.
